All happening this Wednesday, April 24th, at 6PM in the Elsworth Room (Union 3602). If you're reading this, we'll see you there!
GBM #5 this Wednesday is gonna be about elections! Come through and vote on the next iteration of the ASA executive board!
GBM #4 this Wednesday, March 20th at 6 in the Shelnutt Gallery (Union 3606)! This time, we will be discussing the idea of beauty standards (both cultural and Western-inspired) in the diaspora! Get ready to voice your opinions! And bring your friends!
A HUGE thanks to all who attended our FIRST EVER Night of Rhythm! Shoutouts to our dance team for having one of its BEST performances yet, Ade's Roots of Africa, as well as to Union College's ASU, who's dances definitely rocked the crowd (Was I the only one that spotted that Union woman's slowed gwara gwara? I was shook, fam).
So what's next for ASA? A GBM of course! Next Wednesday, March 20, in the Shelnutt Gallery. Stay tuned for more info!
For this week's GBM, come learn about the pre-colonial African kingdoms that shaped our history!
Happening this Wednesday at 6PM in the Shelnutt Gallery! Bring your friends!
GBM #2 coming in HOT this Wednesday, January 30th, at 6PM in the Shelnutt Gallery (Union 3606).
This time, we will be collaborating with NOMAS (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students) to discuss a serious topic: the state of black communities in South Africa. Bring your friends!
Hello! Miss us? Hope the new semester is going well for everyone! Our first GBM of the semester is on Wednesday, January 16 at 5pm in Union 3202, not Shelnutt Gallery. Hope to see you there!

Hey there!
Missed us?
Managed to show up to some ASA events?
Yes?
No?
Maybe so?
Regardless, we still have more events in store! The closest one is the International Festival, happening this Saturday, October 20th, 2018 in the Rensselaer Union. Come in, meet our executive board, and see performances from us and other multicultural orgs! And dont be afraid to drop a Happy Birthday to your favorite Webmaster (me!), as it falls on the same day!
Finally, some good/bad news: Getting the bad out of the way, there will be no GBM this week (10/14 - 10/20). I swear, I shed a tear just thinking about it. Don't fret, though! We will be having another GBM next week, involving a club you may (or may not) know: the Muslim Students Association! With such an interesting blend of cultures and ideas, why not show up and enjoy it with us?
Stay tuned for more details!
Hey everyone,
The African Student Association will be having their first general body meeting this Wednesday in the Union Room 3502 @ 7pm. Come through and help us spread African culture and diversity on campus! All are welcome! There will be fun and games. We hope to see you all there!
